Glowing in the summer sun, this small, but perfectly formed red limewash royal palace was the family home of Georgian royalty; King George III, in particular, loved it, and lived here with Queen Charlotte and their children.

Set within the fantastic Royal Botanic Gardens Kew on the south bank of the River Thames, Kew Palace is grade I listed and – along with its pretty outbuildings – is available for you to hire and share with your guests on your wedding day as a truly unique wedding venue.
Kew Palace is licensed for civil weddings and partnerships.

The King’s Dining Room and The King’s Breakfast Room offer intimate spaces for you to host your wedding breakfast or reception. Featuring furnishings and interiors that look much like they did when King George III reigned, these rooms are full of character and grandeur.

The Queen’s Garden is an enclosed garden that lies directly next to the palace. Perfect for summer wedding receptions, its gorgeous 17th-century style offers an exquisite back drop for wedding photos. Situated next to the riverside, it includes a gazebo, Florentine sculpture, and a ‘mount’ crowned with a rotunda. Only plants and herbs known in the 17th century are grown in this garden.Queen Charlotte’s Cottage is full of charm – close to the palace, this cottage was created as a rustic retreat for royal picnics. It features a beautiful terracotta-tiled floor and a Print Room in which hang 150 satirical engravings. Upstairs, George III’s daughter, Elizabeth, decorated the walls and ceiling with paintings of trailing nasturtiums and convolvulus.

Kew Palace can host wedding receptions as follows:

  • Queen Charlotte’s Cottage: 24 (seated); 40 reception
  • Kings Dining Room 30 (seated); 40 reception
  • Queen’s Garden 40 guests for a reception.
  • The Royal Kitchens 20 (seated); 50 reception

With your very own dedicated wedding coordinator from Kew Palace’s experienced events team, you can be sure you’ll receive the royal treatment when you book your wedding here. On hand throughout the planning process as well as on the big day, you will feel able to relax knowing that first-class professionals are taking care of the needs of both you and your guests. You and your guests will also be able tour the palace and Royal Kitchens, and view areas that are not typically accessible to the public.
