Legado Mitico Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA

Superbly located in the heart of Palermo Soho, Legado Mitico’s is a halcyon hideaway – an achingly hip small luxury hotel that’s an oasis of calm amongst all the action.

Country: Argentina  |  Where: Buenos Aires  |  Design style: Cool heritage  |  Ambience: Hip and halcyon

Replete with style, oozing culture and effortlessly cool. Close to all the best design houses, independent theatres, lounges and artists’ studios, Legado Mitico is packed with personality and panache. Set on a tree-lined street of the bustling Buenos Aires, its slick style pays tribute to Argentina’s great history – to the natives, settlers, Indians and Creoles, to the innovators and revolutionaries.

The relaxed library reception features beautiful dark tones, with row upon row of books. If it wasn’t for the culture to experience outside, you could spend the whole day browsing the shelves to unearth an old treat to read by the fire.

Heroic Rooms
The hotel’s 11 spacious rooms are named and subtly themed around Argentine figures of old, including Eva Perón, General San Martín and Jorge Luis Borges. Decorated with antique furnishings in creams, reds and browns, natural light fills each room (despite the fact they look onto neighbouring buildings) and its three suites even have wood fires in their bedrooms. Plus, given you’re offered a choice of pillows to sleep on, you can rest assured you’ll get a good night’s slumber in your king-sized bed.

But there’s a sun deck on the third floor if you need to be outside, and chairs on the patio downstairs so that you can enjoy the sun within the privacy of the hotel.

Head upstairs to the wooden decked terrace to lounge in the sun, or downstairs to the private patio to breakfast and read the paper.

Legado Mitico does not have its own restaurant; but with so many incredible restaurants on its doorstep, it doesn’t need one. View our ‘Local Recommendations’ tab for inspiration, or ask the hotel’s amiable staff for more suggestions.

Breakfast is served in the Breakfast Lounge.

A metropolis of culture and contradiction, revolutionary figures and incredible architecture and beautiful parks, Buenos Aires’ Palermo Viejo (Soho) is *the* place to be. Shopping is great, dining even better, and everything is in walking distance. Fantastic bars, cafes and entertainment await around every corner – make sure you dive in.

Legado Mitico is just 20 minutes from the airport and right in the centre of the historic Palermo Viejo neighbourhood.
