Built in 1856 and sitting in 66 acres of rural parkland, the Old Down Manor is a five star wedding venue in Bristol with a choice of two stunning wedding venues, a host of stunning backdrops and panoramic views of the River Severn, its bridges and the rolling Welsh hills.

Wedding Spaces

Two immaculate wedding spaces await at Old Down Estate:

The Manor has been beautifully refurbished to create the ultimate country house wedding venue.
The Barn is ideal for rustic-styled weddings and features exposed beams, stone walls, flagstone floor and open fires.

The Manor at Old Down Estate

If you choose The Manor to hold your wedding, you and your guests will arrive through the wedding gates, down a tree-lined avenue to your very own private carpark. You will then enjoy an arrival drink on the lawn overlooking the River Severn before moving inside into one of a number of licensed rooms (including the Orangery, Bernays and the vaulted atrium), for your wedding ceremony.

Your wedding breakfast will be created by the Manor’s in-house chefs and served in the Orangery before you and your wedding party retire into the library for tea and coffee before the evening party begins in the Bernays room where the bar is open up until 12.30am (or longer if you opt for the Estate’s extended license).

When you are ready for bed, you and your guests can head upstairs into one of 13 beautifully appointed rooms, each with lavish decor and chandeliers. Breakfast is served in the morning, and you have the option of a late check-out, and a dip in the indoor heated pool.

The Barn at Old Down Estate

If a rustic barn wedding is more your style, Old Down Estate’s barn is ideal. It has a separate entrance to the manor meaning you and your guests will park in the country park carpark and enter through the walled garden where you will be greeted with drinks to enjoy in the Estate’s heated Folly.

Your ceremony can take place in the barn (which has glorious log burners lit during the winter) or outside in the summerhouse. Food options vary and includes everything from a hog roast to afternoon tea, and when night falls the barn has plenty of space to dance in and its own fully stocked bar.

And, when it’s time for bed, you can stay in one of the Estate’s stunning properties on and off site.
