IN A NUTSHELL
Shilpa Reddy is a fashion-forward London florist who is in the business of listening and translating excited hand gestures and “do you know what I mean?” into beautiful floral designs. Send her your mood boards, screen grabs and scribbles, or meet for a glass of fizz and a brainstorm, she’ll craft you a visual concept package based on your thoughts and send it through with a quote.
Why do you want to work with us?
I want to support love and creativity in all its forms; and I also noticed that there aren’t many luxury wedding flower suppliers for gay couples
What is your approach to weddings?
To listen to the couple and help them tell their story. Like the genie in Aladdin, their wish is my command! I also offer my couples the unique chance to get hands on at Covent Garden market, giving them the grand tour so they can experience the scents and sights that the market has offer, as well as ‘introducing’ them to your the types of flowers that could make their luxury wedding flower displays. It’s the perfect opportunity to refine designs before I create the final wedding flowers. I will deliver any bouquets to the wedding party, and manage the installation of my floral designs at the venue itself, to ensure every detail is perfect.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The people. Getting to know my couples and their families. I’m usually quite emotional by the end! Oh and the flowers too, of course!
What is your favourite wedding song?
It’ll have to be Adele, Make you Feel my Love.
What is your favourite wedding reading?
It’s a passage from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
Happy to travel anywhere in the UK. If abroad, I would check first to see that the town has a flower market
