Say your vows surrounded by natural light in a Victorian Orangery, in the elegant Hanning Room or in the former coach house of 16th century Somerset wedding venue, Dillington House.

Dillington House was built in the 16th century and reworked in the late 1830s. It is a Grade II* listed building and the former country home of Lord North, Prime Minister to HRH King George III.

Ceremony Choice

The following rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies at Dillington House:

The Orangery – dating back to the 1830s, the Victorian Orangery evokes the feeling of being outdoors with the advantage of being covered and protected from the elements. Open the glass doors on a sunny day to allow guests to sit around the fountain and enjoy a partly-indoor and outdoor ceremony.

Hanning Room – dressed with hanging tapestries and lit by an ornate Waterford Crystal chandelier, the Hanning Room offers an airy, elegant ceremony space.

Theatre – once the old stable coach house and now a magnificent theatre, the theatre features grand glass doors that open out into the mews courtyard. It is ideal for larger ceremonies.

Once you’ve said your vows, enjoy Pimms and canapes as you explore the gardens and woodlands, sit by the fountain and chat with friends, and pose for wedding photos with the sun terrace as a picture-perfect backdrop. You and your guests can also make use of the croquet lawn and even put on a treasure hunt for the children.

Dusk ’til Dawn

The Head Chef at Dillington will create a wedding menu completely bespoke for you, including canapes, wedding breakfast and evening buffet (evening specialities include hog roasts and barbecues). As your wedding celebrations continue, take to the dancefloor in Dillington House itself, or in the theatre, where your band can perform live on stage. Both the house and theatre have fully licensed bars and, as the night falls, your wedding party can spill outside onto the terrace, sit by the up-lit fountain and enjoy the cool night air.

Venue for All Seasons

Dillington House is a wedding venue for all seasons. As well as hosting glorious spring and summer weddings, its autumn and winter weddings are something to behold: expect gold and crimson leaves in autumn, roaring fires, Bloody Marys and even pre or post wedding clay pigeon shoots in the winter.

“Having worked on everything from traditional Indian and Chinese weddings to Dr Who themed days, our weddings team promise to make your wedding the most memorable day of your lives. We embrace diversity and equality and aim to provide a real country house wedding party experience that is open to all.” Kari Dobbs, Dillington House

At the end of a most magical day, up to 78 guests can sleep onsite at Dillington House in bedrooms that range from the traditional to the contemporary, from the elegantly spacious to the bijou. The next morning, you and your guests can enjoy a delicious full English buffet breakfast and re-live the joy and delight of the day before.
