An iconic beachfront hotel located on Ocean Drive, the Tides South Beach is just steps from the crystal water of the Atlantic Ocean and Miami’s most exciting dining and nightlife locations. Originally built in 1936, our Miami beach hotel features architecture rich with Art Deco influences, creating a nostalgic environment and a unique brand of modern luxury.

An irrepressible Art Deco beachside spirit.
A classic example of the Art Deco design movement of the 1930s, The Tides South Beach was built in 1936 by master architect L. Murray Dixon in a streamlined, minimalist style.

Already a legend in its day, the elegant hotel has retained its iconic status throughout the years. In 2008, acclaimed interior designer Kelly Wearstler has applied her signature talent for artful historic layering to deliver The Tides South Beach a truly transformative new look.

Respecting the hotel’s creative mélange of Art Deco allure and 21st-century finesse that exemplifies its South Beach setting, the redesign has carefully preserved both the edifice’s historicity and the easy nonchalance of its beachfront spirit.

The Tides Hotel’s service is personalised and customised to address yours specific preferences and needs.

Accommodation

The Tides hotel has the largest hotel rooms on South Beach: starting at 550 square feet and with a guaranteed direct ocean view, they are pretty impressive.

Located directly across the street from the beach and has a hotel guest designated area that offers complimentary beach set-up of two beach chairs, an umbrella and two towels per guest room, it is also a short drive from Miami’s major business districts.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a Personal Assistant at the Front Desk, who promises to deliver advanced and intuitive service.

Dining

The Tides Restaurant and Terrace serves superior Southern influenced seafood cuisine. Dine inside and enjoy its beautiful Art Deco-styled interiors; choose to dine “al fresco” and people watching on Ocean Drive to your heart’s content.

LOCATION & ACTIVITIES

The Tides Hotel is located in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco district, directly across the street from Lummus Park and the Atlantic Ocean, and is considered one of the historical hotels in the area due to its design and construction.

One of the Tides’ next door neighbours, the Palace Bar and Restaurant on 1200 Ocean Drive, has also been a fixture in South Beach since it opened in the late ’80s, and it’s one of Florida’s most popular and enduring GLBT hangouts.
