The Lowdown
How We Met
They met in a nightclub, caught each other's eyes and saw each other every day since. Jake and Ryan are inseparable; they moved in together and getting engaged in August 2014.
This is their love story. The Proposal
I proposed to Ryan on August 8th 2014. As the weather had been amazing for a few weeks I decided to turn our garden into our own little restaurant.
Ryan's favourite restaurant is Gustoso I arranged to borrow some plates, knives and forks to recreate Gusto in our own home. On the day it was just my luck that the heavens opened and it rained, all day and didn't stop so I had to improvise. I called Gusto, ordered our food and nipped out to get some champagne. I then turned our living room into a romantic setting with candles and a really cheesy love album. We ate our food (or rather he ate his food as I felt sick with nerves) and when Will Young's All-TimeLovecame on, I told him I had one more surprise for him (his face lit up and he asked have you bought me more wine!"), but instead of wine, I pulled out the engagement ringand asked him to marry me. He said YES!The Planning
We couldn't wait to be husband and husband and dived headfirst into planning our wedding. We both knew that we wanted the big day to be as traditional as possible and took inspirationfrom some amazing weddings we've been too, but making them all personal to us.
We decided to get married at Stanneylands hotel in Cheshire. Although it was just around the corner from where we live, we had never been but had heard great things about it. I went to view it with my mum as Ryan was working and instantly fell in love I knew we had found the right place. And, after Ryan had the tour too, it sealed the deal. The (Actual) Wedding
The weather on the day was glorious for October the sun was shining and we got some amazing photographs. During the build up we were both really nervous but we had full confidence in Liz and the team at Stanneylands.
On the day Eamon talked us through everything in the morning and completely put us at ease so we knew exactly what was happening and when. We had the most perfect food for starters we had Tomato and red pepper soup. For mains, we had Chicken with a mushroom and tarragon Ju (which was amazing!) and for dessert the men had warm chocolate brownie and the ladies had crme Brulee. Our wedding cakewas designed and made by Nancy Lavelle, Heald Green. She was very professional and we quickly came up with the design and it was amazing! Our big day would not have been what it was if it wasn't for the staff at the Stanley lands. They were all professional and couldn't do enough for us. They kept us informed about every detail and made us feel like royalty. The hard work and prep that everyone at Stanneylands put in, made our special day all the more fantastic.
