Our Unique Story

The Lowdown

The Proposal

I knew exactly how I wanted to propose says Scott, Guy's favourite number is 7, so I decided to create an Easter treasure hunt around the house. There were seven clues and I attached a photo to each, with white stickers covering a letter on the individual photos. When Guy had found all the photos, he had to arrange the photos chronologically, and peel off the stickers. The letters revealed spelled out 'MARRY ME'. Happily, he said yes!

The Planning

Scott and Guy chose to marry at Barton Hall, Kettering, where Scott's mum had worked when it was a care home. She wanted us to marry there before we even got engaged! Using a palette of icecream pastels to blend seamlessly with their rustic style wedding, they held a party of epic proportions. And from the husband-to-be well-wishing cards in the morning, to the contrasting pastel buttonholes and pocket squares, the bridesmaid gifts, film-themed table names, retro candy stash, and even a tribute table to loved ones who were no longer with them, the finer detailing was spot on...

We chose a rustic/pastel theme and smart three-piece suits because they just looked the business and it was completely different to our usual style. We wanted to feel like real statelyhome gents!

The (Actual) Wedding

When I walked down the aisle I was holding back tears (unsuccessfully)!

The speeches were amazing - there is nothing more validating than people telling you how much you are loved and listing all of your wonderful qualities.
And wow, what an incredible cake...
We chose a medley of different songs, but we started it all with 15 seconds of a 'fake' slow dance which then went into a piece we'd choreographed with all of our grooms, maids and best men and women to YMCA, Saturday Night, Macarena, Steps, 5678andSpice Up Your Life

Final Words

Our photographer, Hannah Hall Photography, had such a wonderful energy and genuinely cares and we felt comfortable straight off the bat. We knew after our first meeting that she'd be able to capture what we wanted. On the day, she was part of the gang and we feel that the moments she caught on camera encapsulated the style on the day and was exactly what we wanted.
