GiDo Weddings mixed marble accents with metallic copper, green and 2018's Pantone of the Year (ultraviolet) to create a dramatic and modern lesbian wedding shoot that still captured the essential romance.
Bold, flora was used to contrast with the distressed, weathered walls of Asylum Chapel, bold flowers and foliage. In particular, tall liatris, tropical anthuriums, frilled tulips, clematis, fragrant sweet peas and a dark red-black barracca rose were complemented by tropical monster and philodendron leaves, alongside lighter feathery umbrella and asparagus fern to give a slightly textured asymmetrical style.
Silvery-purple succulents were also added to the foliage table runner, along with dianthus moonlite' to create the illusion of added movement and colour.
The brides wore Sienna von Hildemar dresses, long tassel earrings, hand embroidery with Swarovski pearl and crystal beads on the metal lace to add a whisper of vintage glamour, and head jewellery instead of a necklace to bring a hint of surprise. The hair was braided to create an extra layer of fantasy.
Crushed velvet in a deep, rich purple was the material of choice for the tablecloth to contrast with the softer organic tones of the cut figs, lilac napkins, marble-effect plates and geometric copper candle holders.
The colour scheme was purposely limited to three tonnes and carried throughout the wedding styling, even through to the wedding cake, smaller geode cakes and the entire sweet table.
