What Makes Us Unique
In a nutshell
I stumbled upon this fantastic career path while awaiting the birth of a granddaughter, whose mum knew that she wanted a ceremony to welcome this new life into our family but didn’t want to follow the religious church christening model. And we found naming ceremonies, created by independent celebrants as an option. And when I found out about the opportunity to create wedding ceremonies, too – well, I was sold!
Why do you want to work with LGBTQ+ couples?
I believe in a world in which diversity and love should be celebrated, a world where couples and families come in all different forms.
I believe there is no greater gift than celebrating and living as your authentic self.I believe that new rituals and traditions can be merged with the old to create a ceremony that is all about you.I value conversations about overcoming adversity and can’t wait to hear your story!What is your creative approach to weddings?
I am an independent celebrant based near Oxford. I believe in three simple words: love is love and with that in mind I create heartfelt, personal ceremonies for couples.
Since my training in 2015, I have had the privilege of creating ceremonies as diverse as the day is long – from high-end stately homes to relaxed, laid back ceremonies at a couple’s home. Each and every one is given the same treatment from me – tailored to fit your requirements, written from scratch to encapsulate your very ideals and personalities, thoughts and words.What do you love about what you do?
My answer has to be that very first meeting with an excited couple, the prospect of being able to work with you at one of the best times in your lives, starting to get to know you, the time when I can show you how special your ceremony can be made by adding elements that will mean so much to you, reflecting so well your personalities, interests and beliefs. Yes, I’m a people person.

Lynn led our wedding ceremony in September 2017. From early on we loved her sense of humour, her energy, and the fact that she was open to accommodating even our maddest ideas! We wanted a mixture of traditions and cultures, and she did a great job of researching ideas and suggesting how to incorporate them. The day before the wedding we held a run through of the ceremony, but it was rather chaotic as only a few of us were there and children were running around everywhere. Lynn seemed totally relaxed and confident, even though we were slightly worried that no one knew what they were doing! But it all ran completely smoothly on the day, and she led the perfect ceremony – it was relaxed, honest and full of humour, but solemn and respectful at the right moments. She managed to express why we loved each other and were getting married in words that we could not have said ourselves, and told some great stories along the way (and gazumped the speeches!). The ceremony had exactly the warm, fun and quirky feel we had hoped for, and so many people told us how lovely it was, that it fitted our personalities really well and set a great atmosphere for the rest of the day. Lynn did an amazing job of creating something perfect for us, but I get the impression she is very adaptable and able to bring out whatever suits the couple she is with. We would happily recommend her to others getting married.
I think she knew what we wanted more than we knew ourselves!
Lynn has been fantastic from the moment we booked her right up until the day. She helped us to understand exactly what we both wanted to get out of the day and she personalised the ceremony to both me and my husband. (I think she knew what we wanted more than we knew ourselves!) We could not have asked for a better outcome. She is the perfect solution for those of you who don’t want that traditional church wedding. I would highly recommend Lynn.

It was by happy chance that we found Lynn to conduct our wedding ceremony, having initially approached the local registrar only to find them fully booked. And what a stroke of good fortune this turned out to be; not only did we enjoy the increased flexibility of a celebrant-led ceremony, were also lucky enough to work with a celebrant that seemed to care as much about our special day as we did. Throughout the process Lynn was professional and dependable, guiding us through each stage and making helpful suggestions to craft a ceremony suited to our personalities and tastes. In the lead up to the wedding she went above and beyond, not only in preparing the ceremony but also familiarising herself with the venue and acquainting herself with other suppliers to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day. Yet what makes Lynn so special is her commitment to getting to know her couples on a personal level; by the day of our wedding she was so much more than a wedding supplier -she had become a friend. The result of her hard work over many months was a perfectly crafted ceremony in which both our story and her warmth and humour shone through, and we had so many guests comment on what a beautiful ceremony they had witnessed. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Lynn and I can’t recommend her highly enough.
I can’t recommend Lynn highly enough. If you want a wedding that’s personal, unique and different to any you’ve ever been to then Lynn is your best bet. I’ve never been to a wedding where all the guests comment on how wonderful the ceremony was. That’s usually the boring bit! But everyone said how different it was and how personal. And thanks for guiding us in the build up …..from helping with the readings to buying the remembrance candle, you were so reassuring and made it easy for us planning a wedding from across the Atlantic. When we started planning we had no clue what a celebrant even was, let alone how much we might need one. We’d always dreamed of having a wonderful intimate and personal ceremony. Finally, we found Lynn, who from the beginning was so eager to get to know us, understand us, and explore what made our relationship tick. We skyped, met for coffee countless times, and talked at length about what we wanted to share and express about our marriage. It was perfect. Lynn was so thoughtful and kind, and made the planning process not only stress-free, but enjoyable and fun! We ended up having the most incredible day, the highlight of which by far was Lynn’s ceremony. Almost every guest commented on how personal, how loving the ceremony was – and how it felt like Lynn had known us for years.
My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of Lynn and ceremony she created for us. It was so personal, unique and magical that many people asked if we knew Lynn already due to the way she talked about our relationship and captured it so perfectly. Lynn managed just the right balance of emotion and humour which made it so engaging throughout.
Lynn was a joy to work with, due to the short time scale of our wedding, Lynn had to chase us a fair bit but was so patient and understanding in doing so. Lynn was fun, caring and lovely to work with.
We had countless guests comment on the ceremony and say it brought them to tears (coming from a very un-emotional family!) and we will never forget it. When it started raining (heavily!) half way through the ceremony, Lynn was not fazed and did not let it affect our ceremony at all. We really feel that the ceremony set the tone for the whole day and cannot thank Lynn enough!

We were taking a gamble with two families who would probably have preferred a religious ceremony but boy were we proved right! Naomi and I approached Lynn to perform the role of Celebrant at our Beer Festival themed wedding at Meadowbrook Farm, South Ox.
From our very first meeting, through to helping us with our vows, the script, the order of the day – recommending readings – and of course the obvious stuff you want from someone who’ll be hosting your ceremony – a positive attitude, beaming smile, superb diction and great public speaking ability – Lynn was simply fantastic.
Whilst my family is rather alternative, the bride’s were much more traditional. Going with a celebrant was not I’d say a risk, but bound to come under far more scrutiny than a religious ceremony would have. On the other hand, there was simply no way I was going to go down the religious route personally! But the point is, people were sceptical, but to a man, every piece of feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. People loved the ceremony, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Lynn.
Going through her questionnaires initially to help us write up how exactly we met and fell in love, was lovely, and that it was so well reflected in the final script is a brilliant reflection of the personal touch Lynn brings to proceedings.
All I would say is if you’re considering a Celebrant (or even if you weren’t before), and stumble across Lynn and this page, book her immediately. She will make your day great, and you’ll love it.

The hard work and emotional effort Lynn put into creating such a beautiful ceremony was not lost on us and we know just how tough a job it was for her hitting that perfect tone for the day which she most certainly did! We had numerous family and friends saying to us that it was the most emotional ceremony they have ever experienced and they felt honoured to witness it… well what more could we want than that!? Hardly a dry eye to be found either. Lynn not only beat our expectations she smashed them! It was a work of art and we are both so grateful for her making our day so so special.
We both felt a real connection with Lynn and my parents said they could see it during the ceremony and were blown away by the beautiful words and her emotional delivery.

Also if anyone has any sceptical friends or relatives about having a celebrant have no fear, Lynn impressed every last one of our loveable sceptics! and they were all moved and commented on how it really felt like a wedding day. A* Lynn!
