I came to this work after attending services where I (and a considerable number of the congregation) felt short-changed by the rigid format of a prayer book, conducted by a minister who at best, showed little humanity, and at worst, got the names wrong!

Susan is the ultimate professional. She did the most amazing job for our wedding and worked with us to create the perfect ceremony with short notice. Our aim was to incorporate a fusion of cultures and the end result far exceeded our expectations. There were a few last minute amendments and additions which were dealt with with true professionalism. Look no further if you’re in search of a celebrant!
We had a wonderful wedding day and honeymoon. We are overwhelmed with how amazing it has all been!
Sue is extremely professional but also warm and clearly enjoys being a celebrant. As soon as I had the first meeting I knew Sue would be perfect. Sue took the time to get to know us both and really helped us to create a ceremony to suit our Wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and emotional and our guests felt it too, their comments have been very complimentary.
Our wedding day was always going to be a very special day.
Desh & I had known each other for 35 years and although we had kept in touch all those years, fate decided that now was the time to commit to each other.
Not being church-goers and having our own ideas of how we wanted the ceremony to be, we asked Sue to hold our hands through the process of designing the perfect ceremony, with all the components that were personal to us.
We only had a vague plan to begin with! Sue was amazing in guiding us through every stage, giving us time to go away and think about readings, vows and words for the exchange of rings. She guided just enough, but let us really feel that each choice was our own.
Gradually the ceremony began to take shape. We asked guests to do readings, blessings and a hand-fasting, and on the big day, as we stood in a circle of rose petals, family, friends and candle-light, we felt held and safely guided by Sue. Not rushed, everything in it’s place, perfectly timed and steered by the experience and expertise of our celebrant. I felt so composed and calm, knowing that Sue had everything ready and covered. It was so magical.

We got married in August 2016 and as we didn’t want a traditional church service, we were looking for a service which was personal yet meaningful to us.
We met Sue at our home and within a few minutes realised that she would be the perfect person to conduct our ceremony. We chatted with her about our feelings for each other and she got a real sense of ‘us’ as a couple and what marriage meant to us. We were so happy with the vows which Sue penned for us to read to each other, they were sentimental yet managed to capture our fun side too and on the day all of our guests said that it was one of the nicest wedding services they had been to. We especially liked our sand ceremony which Sue suggested at the end of saying our vows and that was something that everyone hadn’t witnessed before so it made it all the more unique and special.
We would highly recommend Sue if you want a beautiful wedding service which all your guests (and you) will remember forever!

Having done the ‘legals’ in Australia, we needed an intimate ceremony to celebrate our marriage in the UK with our loved ones. We found Sue online and from our first contact she set us at ease.
In spite of the miles, she conveyed a warmth and personal touch in her communications. Working closely with us, she created a ceremony that told our story and helped us to include a hand fasting.

I met Sue at a wedding fayre, held at Soughton Hall which just so happened to be our wedding venue. As most brides will find your often only there for the freebies … I was that bride!
As I approached Sue I gravitated to her smile and warmth, I hadn’t considered a celebrant to conduct our ceremony and in all honesty my future husband was averse to the idea when we first discussed it, however when we both met Sue we were sold straight away. She ‘got us’ right from the off – she was able to help us articulate our feelings for one another, and what was important for us to both share intimately in our service but also with our guests too.
Sue was so easily accessible prior to our ceremony, checking in regularly and working with us back and forth to fine tune the vows we wanted to craft together. Sue’s love, passion and understanding resulted in the most perfect ceremony with every single one of our guests asking who she was – she held my hand, and gave me the encouragement I needed to speak aloud my immensely personal vows and genuinely without her I couldn’t have done it, and being able to say them was so incredibly important. I really can’t thank you enough, it meant a great deal to me to be able to open up to you to ensure my vows said what I really wanted them to say.
If anyone is at all apprehensive as to whether you are doing the right thing by choosing to have Sue as your Celebrant, I can assure you, you are – if being able say the things you really want to say to each other isn’t enough on such an important day, you can also be as ‘fashionably late’ as you like, without fear of the registrar dashing off to their next appointment … I certainly was, as my father kept me behind sipping limoncello! ☺️
Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without Sue, we don’t look back without talking about her and how supportive she was, despite being incredibly subtle and discreet on the day! ❤️

Sue was the celebrant at our wedding in May 2017. Sue provided a very professional service from our first meeting to the wedding day itself and really put us at ease. Sue listened to all our ideas, and was happy to adapt every detail of the ceremony to suit us. We really valued being able to put in our own spirituality and a hand-fasting- neither of which would be possible in a church or civil ceremony. My husband, my friends and I are from different countries and we have never met her before the actual wedding. Susan managed a series of Skype calls to us in China and she sent us emails to check with every detail of the wedding.

My partner and I were nervous as we were doing a destination wedding (we live in California) but Susan made us feel very comfortable through multiple Skype sessions. Susan was an absolutely wonderful celebrant. We were having both a wedding ceremony and naming ceremony for our two daughters on our big day. At our meeting she took down the finer details of our relationship and what the ceremony meant to us and the type of wedding we were trying to achieve- modern, lively, rustic and all about family, and she made the whole script personal, individual and humorous. We felt so confident in her service – so much so that we allowed her to keep the ceremony script a surprise, and as we are non-religious or spiritual, Susan was able to tailor the ceremony to our modern tastes. With the use of a sand ceremony for the girls naming part and a hand-fasting for our coming together… It was perfect – modern and so interesting. She was able to give us ideas about writing our own vows; she included stories about our lives together and the poem that she read out at the end had everyone filled with emotion. The comments I received on the day were that ‘this has been the best wedding I have ever been to’ and Susan’s ceremony played a big part in that
Sue officiated our wedding day a few weeks ago, and there are just no words to describe how amazing our ceremony was because of her. Sue was professional from the day we met her, so kind and approachable, nothing was ever too much trouble.

From the moment that we met Susan, both of us knew that she was the person that we wanted to lead our service. She is so full of passion in what she does and how she conducts herself and that really made us feel at ease knowing that the day would be perfect. Susan really made the greatest effort to get to know us both individually and as a couple. In doing so she really gained an understanding of how to produce a ceremony that was completely personalized to us, our guests and to the venue.
The day was simply perfect in every way. The sun was shining, which meant that we were able to hold the ceremony outside under the bridge. Susan arrived and set up extremely professionally and made me (James) feel at ease, despite my best efforts to stress over every little detail in the lead up to the service. She met with guests that had a key role to play prior to the ceremony so that everyone was clear on how to make all the transitions during the ceremony as smooth as possible.
The manner in which Susan carried out the ceremony made for a relaxed and jovial atmosphere with many laughs and joyous tears shared throughout in the way that she shared our stories with our guests.
Many of our guests commented on how fantastic the ceremony was and this truly set the tone for the rest of the most special day ever. We are both so grateful to the wonderful job that Susan did and there hasn’t been a day gone by when I haven’t thought about how perfect it was!

A day we will never forget… not just the perfect wedding but a day surrounded by the most perfect people and I don’t just mean the guests, this went as far as the people we chose to make our day run stress and worry free.
From day one when we met Sue we knew that she was perfectly suited for our “non traditional wedding”. When you start to plan the wedding you think the dress, the venue and the food are some the most important parts of the day. On the weeks running up to the wedding it dawns on you, well it certainly did me(!), that actually the most important thing are the words said and the promise made. That is ultimately the reason of the wedding.
Sue hand crafted a bespoke wedding that wasn’t too romantic, wasn’t religious, wasn’t too short or too long, and incorporated all the people and parts of our relationship that helped our relationship grow into the partnership and marriage that we have today. Our guests all thoroughly enjoyed the different elements we included in the ceremony (the poem, candle lighting and hand fasting) and have all commented that the humour and also the sentiment that flowed through the entire ceremony, it was ‘very us’.
Nothing was too much trouble for Sue, she visited the venue and met with us several times to really understand who we are individually as well as in our partnership, and wrote our ceremony beautifully in the up coming weeks to the wedding.
I couldn’t thank Sue enough for helping to make our wedding perfect and for describing our relationship so accurately, setting us off into married life on a high.

The ceremony was for us the most important part of the day and we both agreed that our celebrant would need to be someone that we both felt a connection with.
Susan straight away made us feel very at ease and comfortable to talk to. After just our first meeting we felt very sure that we were in capable and caring hands. We live in another country with a 6 hour time difference so we were worried about being able to talk and finding suitable times but Susan worked completely selflessly to arrange Skype meetings that would best suit us! She really made it seem like it wasn’t anything to worry about and I really thank her for accommodating those meetings so kindly.
Susan listened carefully to the history of our relationship and our thoughts on each other and our marriage and used our own words and thoughts to create and deliver a beautiful ceremony.
