Blackfriars Priory is a multi award-winning historic landmark in the heart of Gloucester City. Perfect for discerning couples looking for a unique venue with the wow factor, the Priory boasts an array of unrivalled historic features and iconic backdrops. The North Range has a 65ft scissor-braced ceiling, which displays original 13th century oak beams that were gifted to the site by King Henry III. The site also houses the Scriptorium, which is believed to be the oldest standing purpose built library in Northern Europe and is of international significance.
Catering
Blackfriars works with a list of approved caterers for couples to choose from, allowing the flexibility to create your perfect day to suit your style and budget. For couples who would prefer to keep planning simple, Blackfriars also offers all-inclusive options.
Exclusivity
Weddings at the Priory are offered on an exclusive use basis, meaning you get the whole site to yourselves to enjoy the centuries of history in your very own Medieval retreat.
Accommodation
A two night stay at the nearby boutique accommodation, The Judges Lodgings is included in the package for North Range reception and full day bookings. A 10% discount code is also available for guests who would like to stay in the same premises.
Cancellation Policy
Termination by the Hirer

The Hirer shall have the right to terminate the Contract in writing via email or post to the Manager at any time prior to the date of Booking.

If the cancellation is made prior to 10 working days before the Booking, the Authority will retain the Deposit only.

If the cancellation is made within 10 working days of the Booking 33% or 1/3 of the Hire Cost or the Deposit whichever is the greater will become immediately due by the Hirer to the Authority. If the Hire Cost has been paid, the Authority will refund the appropriate amount to the Hirer.

If the cancellation is made within 5 working days of the Booking 100% of the Hire Cost will become immediately due by the Hirer to the Authority.

- Exclusive use of the whole site for the duration of your wedding.
- Access the day before the wedding to setup decorations (subject to availability).

- Our specialist event team to look after you, your guests and to ensure your special day runs smoothly.
- A fully staffed and stocked bar.
- Tables and decorative Chiavari chairs.
