What Makes Us Unique

In a nutshell

Set within 800 acres of a breath-taking private country estate, the five-star Brinsop Court is a magical 14th century, Grade I listed manor that has been voted one of the top 100 wedding venues in the world; and it's not hard to see why. Romantic backdrops and sumptuous interiors abound; swans swim in its moat, its landscaped gardens enjoy spectacular rural views, and its interiors are the epitome of luxury and style, and it has its own courtyard, woodland and pear orchard.

With an incredible 800 private acres at your disposal, you can choose to marry outside or within the manor itself. From start to finish, Brinsop Court genuinely has it all for you: a variety of ceremony locations to choose from; numerous places where you can sip champagne and enjoy photographs (using any or all of the wonderful backdrops); the Banqueting Hall to savour your wedding breakfast or the courtyard and grounds for some al fresco feasting.
The Knot Barn, was completed at the end of 2020, and is a fabulous addition for your Wedding! A traditionally built oak barn with a feature bar and magical views over the landscaped gardens and Herefordshire countryside. Floor-to-ceiling doors open along the whole front of the barn, meaning your day can have an al fresco feeling, whatever the time of year.
The barn works perfectly for larger numbers, and for smaller groups we can create sections to keep it feeling intimate. It’s a beautiful backdrop as it is, but we can also recommend local companies if you’d like help with decorations and dressing.
Go and visit. They would love to show you around, share details of their recommended professional suppliers and talk through your ideas and inspiration for what they promise will be a truly unique and magical occasion.

Catering

A mouth-watering 5* catering service is available, from formal dinners to street food and absolutely everything in-between including midnight snacks! There is the Brinsop Bar, located in the reception party room, fully stocked with an extensive range of spirits, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks. With corkage free day options also available, should you wish to bring your own, or Brinsop can do it all for you with an incredibly competitive drinks menu!

Exclusivity

When you book Brinsop Court for your wedding, it will be yours to share exclusively with your family and friends for the duration of your stay. Not only does this give you exclusive use of the luxury manor house, but of the magnificent wedding suite for you and your wedding party to get ready in, and of the romantic wedding-night hideaway, Ivy Cottage, which even has its own private hot tub.

Accommodation

Among this 18-bedroom manor house, which can sleep 33 of your nearest and dearest, you will find four separate wings which can be partitioned for your exclusivity. Beautifully stylish bedrooms home perfectly laundered Egyptian cotton linens, towels, bathrobes and luxurious L’Occitane toiletries. With your own private access, you have all our fabulous grounds and wider estate of 800 acres to explore. Play a game of tennis on our courts, bathe in the hot tub or find a quiet corner with a good book.

Throughout Summer there is also the option of Glamping onsite which has been created exclusively for Brinsop Court wedding guests. With the glamping enclosure positioned a mere 50 metres from the beautiful Knot Barn, practicality and ease are very much front and centre.
Just a stones throw away from the main house are not one but two idyllic cottages! Dating back to the 18th Century, Ivy Cottage was once home to the estate’s gamekeeper. Tucked away on the outskirts of the small village of Tillington, on the edge of the Brinsop Estate, is the recently renovated Wood Cottage.
Both cottages have been lovingly converted into private, one-bedroom retreats. Inside, you’ll find a homely yet modern kitchen with a traditional Aga, cosy sitting rooms with a warming wood burner and all the kindling and logs you could need for curling up on the sofa with a film or book! Climb the stairs to the super king bed and beautiful bathroom, complete with walk-in shower, teardrop free-standing bath and plasma TV.
Sitting atop a hill with a private terrace and hot tub, the far-reaching views stretch over the estate and woodlands, towards the Black Mountains near Hay-on-Wye and the Skirrid towards Abergavenny.
