Set within woodlands and approached via an impressive 2km avenue, The Carriage Rooms is an old Grade II listed threshing mill that was originally build in 1850 and was lovingly restored and modernised in 2012 to become one of the most romantic barn wedding venues in Northern Ireland. As you drive along the tree lined avenue taking in the views of the spectacular views of Montalto Estate, it will become apparent that you have arrived somewhere very special indeed.

The Walled Gardens offer a stunning outdoor space perfect for Pimms and croquet; the courtyard offers a fabulous country backdrop, and the estate's tranquil lake provides a peaceful romantic setting for you both to escape as a couple for some quiet time together away from the buzz of the day. Numerous terraces with stylish seating allow guests to enjoy the formal gardens for warm summer weddings, while open log fires add warmth and atmosphere to wonderful winter celebrations.

Guests can spend the afternoon meandering in The Walled Garden with a drink in hand while you take advantage of the wonderful photography opportunities available before moving into the banquet hall for dinner. With its exposed walls, vaulted ceilings and 19^th century beams, this is an elegant setting for your sumptuous meal served by our award winning caterer, Yellow Door.

The bespoke menu for your wedding day will be created by the expert Yellow Door team working alongside you to make sure that everything is exactly as you imagined. Wine can also be arranged from the award winning wine merchant JN Wine.

The Carriage Rooms at Montalto wants to ensure your civil union is a uniquely special day, and for that reason, it is available for your exclusive use. Montalto Estate offers endless possibilities for photography, and because of this, everything you need is in one magical location.

In addition to providing this exceptional County Down wedding venue, Montalto House has nine superbly appointed ensuite double bedrooms for your and your guests to stay overnight. Enjoy drinks in the library after the wedding and tuck into a full Irish or continental breakfast with your family in the relaxed kitchen setting the following morning.

Included in the hire of the venue are tables, table skirts and Chiavari chairs, a PA system, microphone and lectern. Candles and lanterns are supplied and maintained throughout the day, and the bar is fully stocked and staffed. The caterers, quote per head and the cost will include dining setup; cutlery, crockery, glassware and linen. A Master of Ceremonies can be also be arranged free of charge.
