Luxurious, quintessentially English and quirky with a capital ‘Q’, you’ll love Glazebrook House, an award-winning country house wedding venue in Devon. Located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, its Alice in Wonderland style interiors have been designed by world-renowned designer Timothy Oulton, and include feature walls covered in tea-party plates, snare drums, and retro curios; it also has a white rabbit themed bedroom (perfect for newlyweds) and gorgeous gardens in which to enjoy an unforgettable day.
What’s more, every wedding at Glazebrook House is tailor made and gives you and your guests exclusive use of the hotel and its grounds.
Write Your Own Rules
The owners of Glazebrook and their staff believe that the best approach planning a wedding is to expect the unexpected. The hotel is such a glamorous and quirky place, its weddings are always fun, and any type of decoration, style or ideas are possible.
The team take the responsibility of organising a wedding very seriously and work hard to create a sensational, memorable and personal day. Some couples get married on the wide staircase to give them an elevated position overlooking their guests assembled in the foyer, others hold their ceremony in the light-filled restaurant before adjourning to the bar or garden for reception drinks before the wedding breakfast begins; and some marry in Glazebrook’s enchanted gardens. The choice is yours.
“A wedding is a wedding: two people madly in love who want to share the rest of their lives together, so they throw a big celebration and invite their closest friends and family to witness the event. But with same-sex weddings, couples tend to be forced out of ‘traditional’ gender roles and make their wedding exactly the way they want to! And that always makes them unique and amazing… just like Glazebrook!” Pieter, Glazebrook House
