Holdsworth House is a stunning 400-year-old manor in three acres of gardens. It is a leading wedding venue in West Yorkshire, has over 60 years of experience, 32 bedrooms and award-winning food.

The hotel is beautiful and independently owned. It offers historic architecture and delightful gardens, but it is our highly experienced team that really stands out; we have literally hundreds of reviews from very happy couples. We've hosted weddings for over 60 years and our wedding team has worked here an average of 15 years each, so you get the personal touch from people that really care and you can trust us fully to turn your wedding into the most incredible day.
Set the heart of West Yorkshire, the dog-friendly hotel is equidistant between Leeds and Manchester and hidden from the (quiet) road. It is perfect for exclusive weddings that require privacy, professionalism and luxury. A unique, historic wedding venue, Holdsworth House has so many truly stunning backdrops. Many photographers and influencers use the hotel for their shoots because of its wonderful stone mullion windows, traditional decor and features. There's simply nowhere else like it.
The hotel is fully licensed for wedding ceremonies indoors or out. There are two bars licensed for the sale of alcohol. All wedding food is prepped and cooked onsite, fresh by chefs who also cook for our award-winning restaurant.
If you want a big wedding for 120 guests (150 evening) or a small wedding for 10 you can choose an all-inclusive package or a bespoke option. There are no hidden costs or price rises once you book. Our one-wedding promise means yours will be the only wedding on the day.

Catering

Holdsworth House has an award-winning restaurant. It will be the same restaurant chefs cooking your canapes, wedding breakfast, evening buffet or banquet. If you book Holdsworth House for your wedding, you will be invited to a complimentary menu tasting so you can see, as well as taste, your chosen dishes so you know exactly what to expect on the day. We understand that food is a critical part of your day, and so we only operate a fresh banqueting service for the ultimate flavour and quality (we do not cook and reheat wedding dishes). In addition, we have an extensive wine list curated by a Master of Wine, with a brilliant selection of New and Old World wines and vintages. Our bar stocks over 100 gins – many of them local to Yorkshire. We work closely with a local artisan IPA brewer to supply our superb pale ale.

Exclusivity

Exclusive use venue hire available. Regardless of the size of your wedding, we only host one per day. You can add Exclusive Use, which provides you with complete private access to the restaurant and 32 bedrooms (B&B basis) from £6000.

Accommodation

Holdsworth House can accommodate your guests in 32 double or twin rooms. Whether they are travelling from overseas, from a long car journey or from round the corner; Holdsworth House is easy to find and has parking onsite for 60 cars.

Cancellation Policy

In the unfortunate circumstance that the Client cancels or postpones the Event at any time, the Hotel reserves the right to impose the following cancellation charges: Between 180-270 days 30% cancellation will be charged; Between 120-180 days before the Event 50% of the contractual amount will be charged; Between 120-60 days before the Event date 75% of the contractual amount will be charged; Within 60 days of the Event date 90% of the contractual amount will be charged. The Client’s deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable and should be claimed back on your wedding insurance. Any cancellation, postponement or partial cancellation should be advised to the management of the Hotel in writing by the Client, in the first instance. The Hotel may, at its absolute discretion, endeavour to mitigate any losses which it may incur as a result of the Client’s cancellation of the booking by, amongst other things, advertising the availability of the Facilities on the scheduled date(s) for which the booking had been made. Part or all of the profit (if any) which the Hotel has been able to make through other clients’ use of the Facilities on the scheduled date(s) on which the booking had been made will be retained by the hotel in full. In addition to paying the cancellation charges the Client shall indemnify the Hotel for any costs or expenses incurred to third parties by reason of any arrangements made with such third parties in respect of the Event. If the Event is postponed by the Client the Hotel will endeavour to make alternative arrangements with the Client for the Event at the venue on an alternative date (“Alternative Event”) provided always that the Alternative Event shall be subject to availability and shall take place within six months of the date of the postponed Event. Where no Alternative Event is arranged within six months of the date of the original Event, the Hotel reserves the right to treat the Event as cancelled. The Hotel reserves the right, without prejudice, to any other right or remedy available, to terminate or suspend any Contract forthwith or, at its discretion, offer alternative facilities without any further responsibility on its part in the Event if: any part of the Hotel is closed due to fire or water damage or due to alterations or redecoration or any occurrence beyond the Hotel’s control which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with the Event; there is a failure to supply the Hotel with any essential services such as gas, electricity or water; if the booking might, in the Hotel’s opinion prejudice its reputation; if the Client is more than 21 days in arrears of payment to the Hotel; if the Client becomes bankrupt or makes any voluntary arrangement with its creditors or becomes subject to an administration order or an encumbrancer takes possession of, or a receiver is appointed of any of the Client’s property or assets. In the event of termination or suspension the price for any Facilities that the Hotel has provided to the Client shall become immediately due. Should the Hotel, for reasons beyond its control, need to cancel or make any amendments to the Event, the Hotel reserves the right to offer an alternative choice of facilities.
