Catering
We are a very flexible venue where you can choose all of your own suppliers; however we can recommend Greedy Pig Catering who have been to our venue many times and who work very well alongside the Team at Knockerdown. We do provide all couples with our recommended list to help with the planning of your event.
Exclusivity
Exclusive use is a phrase often used for wedding venues but at Knockerdown we really mean it! Set on the cusp of the Peak District National Park in the heart of rural Derbyshire, this stunning countryside location provides total exclusivity for a whole weekend not just for a day. You can create a wedding celebration unlike any other for you, your family and your guests. Knockerdown offers you a blank canvas, to create an unforgettable weekend of celebrations based on your personality, style and beliefs. With the venue entirely yours for the whole weekend we want you to treat it like it’s your home.
Once you and your guests have arrived, you can just park up, check in and relax for the duration of your stay. Your guests can choose to stay in one of our sixteen well equipped self-catering holiday cottages. On site facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, children’s play area, a communal games room and lots of grounds to explore.
Accommodation
Our sixteen holiday cottages can provide wedding accommodation for up to 93 guests. Each cottage is individually styled with all the facilities you would expect to find in a self catering holiday cottage. Our site is situated in the Derbyshire Dales, approximately 6 miles from Ashbourne, 15 miles from Derby and on the door step of the beautiful Carsington Reservoir.
All cottages come with TV & DVD player in the lounge space, and free WiFi. A well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, glasses and utensils. Each bedroom has ample drawer and wardrobe space. All bed linen is provided along with two towels per person. Each cottage has a hairdryer, iron & ironing board and we can provide high chairs on request.
On site facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, children’s play area, a communal games room and lots of grounds to explore.
Four of our cottages are also Dog Friendly so four legged friends can join in the celebrations too.

TRULY PERFECT!
Some of the highlights for us that stood out – The site couldn’t have been cleaner! Prices were just right!, absolute joy and so so easy!, With our wedding being moved twice during covid – I couldn’t have asked for a better service. One of the best services I have ever encountered!
Fiona and Justeen were welcoming, enthusiastic, positive, warm, friendly, supportive, assisting, knowledgeable, quick at responding and just an absolute joy for them to be a part of our weekend!, We chose Knockerdown due to the friendly staff, the beautiful outdoors and that it was a wedding event like no other.
I couldn’t thank the team at Knockerdown enough. They made sure that me and my husband truly had the best wedding day/weekend of our lives. It was truly beyond perfection and it wouldn’t have been possible without the team. This place is the best wedding venue anyone could ask for. Please do not look further, this is the place you NEED.

An absolute fabulous weekend from start to finish. Justine the wedding coordinator and team couldn’t have been any better if they had tried. They were there when we needed them and not in your face the rest of the time. I know Justine was brilliant in helping Lee & Becki plan their wedding and nothing was too much trouble. The venue is just fantastic, and the cottages were first class not your ‘typical’ self-catering properties. They were spotless and so well equipped even down to the smallest of details. If you’re looking for a DIY first class venue, I would highly recommend Knockerdown, you won’t be disappointed! Tracey, the brides mother. ?

We’ve just come back from our weekend wedding at Knockerdown Cottages and there aren’t enough words to say how perfect it was. Our wedding coordinator Justeen went above and beyond a million times over, during the two years leading up to the wedding and over the whole weekend itself. We can’t thank her and the team enough for helping us create such a fun and special weekend.
Having most of our guests be able to stay on site was really important to us, as well as the option to choose all our own suppliers and decorate as we wanted to. Knockerdown provided all this in a beautiful location which made it an easy choice.
All of our guests keep telling us how incredible the venue was, and how friendly and endlessly helpful the staff were. We’re so impressed and so pleased we chose Knockerdown for our wedding. We can’t wait to come back for a visit!
Omg!, what can I say it was a honour to be a part of your wedding planning from day one when you first booked, to hear and see all the suppliers that you had booked, by the end of the weekend I felt like part of the family.
