Vincent Harris, Central Library first opened in 1930; its rounded structure, colonnade and eye-catching two-storey entrance quickly saw it become celebrated as one of Manchester's most iconic architectural pieces. Meticulously restored in 2014 it now doubles as an enviable library space and a truly exclusive and unique wedding venue.
Your day beginsCentral Library's Performance Space offers a fantastic blank canvas for you to style your ceremony as you wish. Use the Library's dedicated wedding planner to help you bring your wedding vision to life and make this space entirely your own. Able to hold up to 80 people, or adapted to suit more intimate weddings, it can bring plenty of wow to your wedding day.SHAKESPEARE HALLThe ornate Shakespeare Hall can be used to host your drinks reception. Its magnificent stained glass window, featuring a portrait of William Shakespeare along with various scenes from his most celebrated plays, certainly adds to the magic of the day.PHOTO OPPORTUNITIESCentral Library has plenty of incredible backdrops for you and your immediate wedding party to pose for photos whilst your guests relax. You will be charmed by the Wolfson Reading Room and hidden heritage spaces, still adorned with their original furnishings, intimate and full of history.FIVE COURSE Wedding BREAKFASTGo from the classical to the contemporary as you make your way to the third floor for your five-course wedding breakfast. Bathed in natural light and styled according to your specific wedding wishes, you and your guests can dine in this fantastic curved space and enjoy a different perspective of the city from each of the library's original feature windows, before taking to the parquet floor for an evening of dancing.
