Newcastle Castle is a truly unique and beautiful wedding venue located in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Dating back to the 11th century, this remarkable Norman Fortress will be your very own castle for the day, with characterful and historic architecture throughout providing an idyllic setting for your fairytale wedding.

Whether you’d prefer to dance the night away with live medieval music, have surly guards greet your guests on arrival, have cannon fire announce your wedding in style, or even have a personalised banner to hang in the Great Hall, here at Newcastle Castle we will help you create a truly bespoke and unique experience by adding a little medieval magic to your special day!

Newcastle Castle is a dry-hire venue, which gives you the flexibility to bring in any external suppliers you choose. You are also welcome to cater the wedding yourself, and/or bring your own drinks for your reception with no corkage charge.

When you book with us, be assured that you will be the only wedding party there!

When you hire the Castle Keep, you will have access to the whole building, so you and your guests will be able to explore and enjoy all four floors of the Castle Keep, including the roof, which has stunning views across Newcastle, Gateshead and the Tyne valley.

Our Wedding Packages include a ceremony room, a space for your reception, a wedding coordination team, and staff to assist on the day. You can also opt for a ceremony-only. There are a range of add-ons possible, from a medieval musician to a sword-fighting display, or even a personalised banner to hang in our Great Hall!
