Penhein Woodland Weddings

Penhein is perfect for small, intimate wedding celebrations for up to 50 guests (with an option for an additional 20 guests on request). Just like our glamping, weddings at Penhein offer something a little different. Nestled amongst the trees in the centre of Penhein Farm is the gorgeous glampsite itself. This comes complete with accommodation for up to 48 people (if a mix of adults and children), a beautiful stretch marquee party space in the centre of the woodland, an additional, all-purpose indoor space, ideal for the pre-wedding preparations or perhaps as a quiet space for guests and finally full access to our Wildflower Meadow with its spectacular views down the valley and across to the River Severn, offering the perfect backdrop for the ceremony itself.  In a nutshell, we offer the freedom to curate the wedding celebration of your dreams; Penhein is a blank canvas on which to work your own magic.

We offer a carefully selected list of local caterers as suggestions, but our guests are not tied to this. Guests can decide to do their own catering on site or hire in a caterer of your choice. We are here to help, not impose! We also don't charge corkage for any alcohol guests wish to bring on site.

Penhein is a seasonal licensed wedding venue, open from the last weekend of March to the beginning of November each year. We run on an exclusive hire system whereby the whole site is automatically included in a wedding booking, making it for the sole use of the couple's wedding guests.  The site is on a ‘dry hire’ basis, meaning you can use all your own suppliers if you wish, but if you need help we are always happy to answer questions and provide contact details from our own list of excellent local suppliers if needed.

The glampsite has eight stunning alachigh tents each of which sleeps up to four, with a large and comfy sofabed for an extra adult or two small children if required. This gives us a capacity of 40 adults or 48 mix of adults and children. Each tent has its own 'loo pod' with flushing loo and a firepit just outside the door. Three of the tents have a private enclosed shower located next to the tent and a large comfy hammock hanging nearby. For the remaining tents there is our wonderful luxurious shower block with its underfloor heating, monsoon showers and Victorian style rolltop bath. There is also a fabulous Shepherd’s Hut next to the showerblock, with an accessible loo and shower, particularly available for any guests with limited mobility. The configuration of guest numbers may mean that they can’t all fit into the layout of our permanent alachigh tents. Given this,  additional fully furnished bell tents can be added to our large Wildflower Meadow (which will be at an additional cost), or guests are welcome to pitch their own tents. The total guest numbers cannot exceed 70.

Should you sadly need to cancel your stay with us please see our refund schedule below, in all cases minus a £50 per tent non refundable booking fee.

It is your responsibility to make any decision as to the need to cancel your stay, regardless of the circumstances. The only exception to these rules is if Penhein has to close down by order of the government. In only this case will you receive a full refund (minus £50 Booking Fee). You will not be covered for any other reason. If you do have to cancel, we reserve the right, if necessary, to change the price of your stay in order to facilitate a re-sale. A booking at Penhein Glamping is covered by our Flexible Cancellation Policy as listed in our Terms and Conditions. We strongly recommend that you also obtain insurance cover against any risk of cancellation or postponement of your booking for whatever reason. As an option, we offer a third party insurance service, available when you first make a booking with us, via XCover.com. Please note our cover is for the hire of the glampsite tents only.

The hire price includes the following:

• 8 luxury, fully furnished alachigh tents (said alla-cheeg) with loo pod (with fully flushing loo), dining area, cold running water, sleeping area and BBQ firepit outside. Each sleeps up to 5 with a sofabed for an extra adult or two small children. Please note the tents do not have electricity. Lighting is managed with the supply of rechargable and /or solar lighting
• Bedding and towels (plus cots, highchairs and fireguard if required)
• Each tent has cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery and essentials such as tea, coffee, spices, salt and pepper, olive oil
• Complimentary 4 tonnes of wood for use on site, plus full log basket in each tent
• Complimentary ‘Taste of Wales’ welcome hamper in each tent
• Our woodland entertainment area, Chehel Sotoun. A fabulous outdoor/indoor space, this stunning grove within the glampsite has a large stretch canvas cover creating a fantastic space large enough for your guests to gather together. It has open sides and seating enough for all for a meal, electricity points if required and a large outdoor firepit at one end with open curved seating for guests to gather round deep into the evening
• Permanent bar next to Chehel Sotoun, that can be decorated by our guests
• Petro’, our indoor space, with electrical sockets and reading lamps, tables and chairs and seating for a meal if required. There’s a wood-burning stove and a huge fire pit outside, from where you can take in the sensational views across the meadows
• The Cheat's Kitchen, a covered area with electricity, hot and cold running water, fridge and freezer space and cooking hob, kettle and microwave
• An outdoor kitchen featuring a large wood fired pizza oven that can cook 3-4 pizzas at a time (or anything else that tickles your tastebuds!) plus a super-sized BBQ and prep area
• A natural adventure playground for children, plus additional swings around the site
• Full access to our Wildflower Meadow with its spectacular views down the valley and across to the River Severn, offering the perfect backdrop for the ceremony itself
