The Harbour Chapel

The Harbour Chapel is a unique and diverse East Lothian wedding and events venue for up to 120 guests. This spectacular former church with its elegant reception bar creates an exquisite destination for any occasion.

Beautifully restored with a contemporary twist, this former historic Wesleyan Chapel is the oldest in Scotland and dates back to 1764. The venue retains its original features including a scallop-shelled oak pulpit and balcony, stunning stained-glass windows gifted from St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, and original pew seating.

We can seat up to 80 guests for dining, with space for an extra 40 evening guests. Every wedding at the Harbour Chapel is unique and we will work with you to create your own custom-made package to meet personal tastes and requirements. The interior of the building and furnishings create a real sense of warmth and atmosphere, and we offer to provide as much as possible to allow you to truly relax and enjoy your special day.

The Harbour Chapel sits on the approach down to Dunbar’s two historic harbours, only a minute’s walk from Victoria Harbour. The castle remnants and the vibrant colours of the fishing boats and lobster creels provides a beautiful location for photographs.

We can offer you a range of food and drink packages from casual dining to all inclusive.

From experience we know that no two weddings are the same, so we do not insist on packages as we like to listen to what you need and want.

Our caterers produce fresh, high-quality food from local suppliers, and we can help you to create your own bespoke dining experience.

We only offer exclusive use venue hire, so you and your guests will have the place to yourselves whether it's just the two of you for an elopement or 100 for a party.

We will help you to find what you are looking for and will help you to arrange transport should you choose to stay out with Dunbar in one of the many beautiful surrounding areas.

Our venue hire is £3295 for 2023 and £3595 for 2024. For smaller, midweek weddings or elopements get in touch for a bespoke price.
