The Historic Guildhall Exeter

The Guildhall is one of the most ancient municipal buildings in England. It has played host to royalty, dignitaries and been the home of civic government for the best part of a millennium, and you can etch your name in its storied history forever by commemorating your marriage or civil partnership here.

Having kept the core of its historic structure, the building has been renovated to reflect much of its original grandeur and is now recognised as a Grade I listed building. The building survived the devastating blitz bombing during the Second World War after being protected by a tunnel of bricks and sandbags, leaving us with one of the most storied buildings in the country.

We have a list of trusted caterers that we work with but please feel free to book your caterer separately.

We are in the heart of the City of Exeter, although we don't offer accommodation at our venue, we are lucky enough to be surrounded by hotels. Please ask if you need assistance.

We have two rooms available for use; the Jury Room which as a seating capacity of up to 35 and he Great Hall which can seat up to 80 people.
