What Makes Us Unique

In a nutshell

We are a family- run, dog friendly, boutique hotel on the water's edge, in the picturesque village of Kames.

The hotel is a late Georgian/ early Victorian building, brimming with period features. It is an intimate environment, with only 10 bedrooms, all of which are unique and have their own characteristics and features.
Our bedrooms are situated on the first floor (high ceilings) and the second floor (Victorian sloped ceilings) and are accessed via our beautiful Victorian staircase. Many of our rooms include extensive sea views up and down the West Kyles, those without overlook the hotel's mature gardens.
Guests are served breakfast in our large ground-floor dining room which boasts sea views and a multi-fuel stove for the cooler months. We also host private parties and events from our dining room.
We have an in-house public bar and restaurant, which also have sea views. The restaurant serves freshly prepared, seasonal and locally sourced food and the hotel bar boasts an enviable collection of beers, wines and spirits. We provide a daily menu, a specials menu and customised menus for private parties and events.
The Hotel boasts a sea- front facing patio area, and established south facing and rear gardens which can be used for private parties and events.
We are the first choice for seafarers, offer 15 moorings, free of charge to patrons. Our area is fantastic for outdoor enthusiasts, the sea can be accessed directly opposite the hotel for moorings and water sports, the local golf course is within walking distance, and we can provide external bike storage with covers for guests.
We are a very dog friendly hotel, only restricting dogs from accessing the hotel dining room (dog owners can be served breakfast in the bar if they are unable to leave their dog). Dogs are very welcome in all other areas of the hotel.

Catering

We have our own restaurant within the hotel.  We are privileged to be situated in an area boasting some of the best fresh wild seafood and locally farmed meat in the UK.

Our Head Chef Scott and his team are dedicated to providing seasonal food, freshly cooked using the finest local ingredients wherever possible.

In addition to our lunch and evening menu, we offer an ever-changing Chef's Specials Menu, which utilises seasonal produce. We also provide customised menus for private parties and events.

Breakfast is served in our beautiful dining room, which includes a lounge area for guest use,  extensive sea views and a large wood burning stove for use during the cooler months of the year. The dining room can also be used for private parties and events.

Our hotel includes an extensively stocked bar, serving a vast array of wines and spirits. Specialising in Whisky and Gin, we stock over 50 whiskies and over 40 gins.

Exclusivity

The hotel is modest with only ten bedrooms, and if booking far enough in advance it is possible to book all bedrooms for one event. We can offer exclusive use of the dining room, the garden and a small section of the restaurant for private events and parties. Please note that the bar is always open to the public.

Accommodation

The hotel is an intimate environment with only 10 bedrooms: 1 single, 5 Double and 4 King-size. One of our garden view rooms can be made up as a twin. We offer Superior and Small Rooms with extensive Sea views up and down the West Kyles, and Standard rooms with garden views. All bedrooms are en-suite with their own unique features and lay out.

Please note: The building is Late Georgian/ early Victorian, and brimming with charm and period features, however, as a result all rooms are on the first and second floor and only accessible via the Victorian Staircase, so may not be suitable for guests with mobility problems. Our second- floor rooms all have Victorian sloped ceilings, and while many guests love the character, taller guests might prefer our first- floor rooms, which all have high ceilings.

Room bookings can be cancelled without charge up to two weeks in advance of stay. Please contact us to discuss event cancellation terms.
