Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve is Kent’s largest wildlife reserve, set within 600 acres of magnificent private parkland and home to 900 wild endangered animals. 

The reserve’s centrepiece, the Grade II* listed Port Lympne Mansion, surrounded by 14 acres of landscaped gardens, is regarded as one of England’s finest country houses. Overlooking the dramatic expanse of Romney Marsh and the English Channel, it has entertained royalty, aristocracy, prominent politicians and playwrights for over a century, welcoming notable guests, including Charlie Chaplin, the Prince of Wales, Lord Mountbatten, Sir Winston Churchill and T.E. Lawrence. 

The ceremony will be hosted in one of our licensed areas, including the new glass orangery, the stunning new pergola, the quintessentially English-tiered and walled gardens, the dramatic Moroccan Courtyard, or the elegant Iceberg Terrace.

Our setting remains unique: one where couples can wed surrounded by hundreds of rare and endangered animals, knowing that their event supports wildlife protection in the UK.

The wedding party can enjoy a delectable wedding breakfast and evening reception in the opulent mansion rooms, or opt for a banquet in the enchanting Orangery, which includes its own fully incorporated kitchen for all fine dining requirements.

Menus are curated from locally-sourced ingredients, and we work with many award-winning local vineyards to offer outstanding wine pairing. Inventive dishes celebrate the very best of Kentish produce, with a strong commitment to seasonality and championing local artisan suppliers. All produce is sustainably sourced, with fruit and vegetables fresh from the park’s kitchen garden at Walmestone Growers in Wingham. Being in the heart of English wine country, local wines and Kentish brews wonderfully complement our dishes, and we include Gusbourne sparkling wine in all our packages. Our Events Coordinator can assist couples with everything from bespoke tableware and linen options through to menu design and wine pairings. We can also provide evening buffets, from traditional elegant spreads to something more fun and informal, offering everything from mini burgers through to gourmet cheese boards and sweet treats.

Our stunning parkland features 14 different luxurious and unique accommodation options, from glamping tents and treehouses nestled high above the woodland canopy to panoramic bubble pods and immersive lodges partially set within the park’s lion and tiger habitats.

Couples can choose the ideal accommodation to suit their style and requirements and accommodation can be booked in part or its entirety for the wedding party, subject to availability.

All our packages include a membership to Port Lympne, so they can visit as many times as they like during the planning stages.

They will have their very own personal event manager on the wedding day to ensure every aspect runs smoothly. We invite the couple to meet with the dedicated manager with a glass of Gusbourne sparkling wine to run through the final plans. We also include a dedicated professional toastmaster to help coordinate the guests throughout the day.
