What Makes Us Unique

In a nutshell

The venue is a beautiful old Town Hall with many period features still in place, it is located in the Centre of a beautiful old market town steeped in rich history.  The Town Hall has rooms that are licensed for civil and wedding ceremonies with rooms available seating 4 - 130 guests. If you would like to book a reception your day can be tailor made to suit your requirements, we do not have caterers etc. on site you can hire in whoever you would like making the day very personal and unique to you. The building has a number of rooms that can be used with a main Assembly Hall being your reception room.


The Town Hall has a working kitchen with all the facilities a cater would want when coming into a building to cater for an event. You are able to have the caterers you choose, we do have a list of local suppliers that we can share with you. Once a caterer is confirmed we can arrange meetings with them to show them the hall and what we have available for them, you do not need to take time off of work for these meetings we can deal directly with the caterer to save you being the go between.


You will have exclusive use of the hall for your ceremony or reception, we will have staff on duty to greet you and look after you and your guests.


There are a few hotels locally to the Town Hall, these get booked up very quickly so booking well in advance is advised. Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre and website have a full list of accommodation.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy If an accepted booking is cancelled by the hirer the following fees are payable :

  • 21 days before the event the full fee is payable
  • 28 days before the event -  50% of full fee
  • over 28 days - 10% of the full fee is payable

What is Included?

At the Town Hall we have tables and chairs that will be set out as per your seating plans, for ceremonies we have silk flowers and linen table cloths, we have a Bluetooth speaker available to use to play music as you walk in, out and during the ceremony. Seat cover and bows are available, we have a limited colors to chose from.
