Our Unique Story

The Lowdown

The wedding to us is less about a specific vibe or style, and more about the atmosphere we wanted to create. We are combining two families and are really exciting to have all of our favourite people in one space. We want the wedding to be cosy and warm, as well and fun and exciting.

We wanted every part of the wedding to mean something to us, from the table names being our favourite pubs (hand drawn by Grace), to the neon sign of our new name, to elements of Green for Grace's Irish heritage and White Roses for Carrie's English heritage.

The Proposal

Thanks to the help of Carrie's mum, we both decided to look at engagement rings together and to do the process with each-other. So technically no-one proposed - which we both quite like as it was completely equal. One Sunday in November 2021 we went into Windsor to pick up our new rings, took them to the Long Walk and then hid behind a tree to put on our rings. It was romantic, exciting and simple in the best way possible. We then had a delicious breakfast at Browns, followed by a prosecco fuelled afternoon and evening celebrating with our mums.

The Wedding Shot

The day started at Carrie's parents house where Carrie and her bridesmaids were getting ready. I photographed all the preparations and also took the opportunity to take some family shots in the gorgeous garden.

Grace and her bridesmaids got ready at the accommodation provided at their venue. The rooms opened onto the venue's courtyard, which made it very easy for them to open up the doors and have easy access to their rooms later on.
Carrie and her bridesmaids arrived at the venue in the wedding car and went straight into the barn space where the ceremony was to take place. Shortly after, Grace came out of her room and waited outside until it was time to make her entrance.

The Reception

Once again the hardworking staff turned the barn into the evening reception room where the dancing was to take place.

The (Actual) Wedding

Grace entered the barn and walked up the aisle with her mother. It was a beautiful moment when they saw each other for the first time that day. They left the barn after the ceremony and after a quick glass of fizz, they got into the wedding car to go for a short drive.

As soon as they returned, it was time for confetti in front of the barn. It was such a beautiful sunny day, so we took lots of family and group photos in the lawn.
In the meantime, the staff had got the barn ready for the Wedding Breakfast.
I waited until the end of the meal and speeches to take them out into the gardens for a 10 minute couple's shoot. We managed to get some gorgeous photos in the warm afternoon sun light.

The Afterparty

We have chosen 'The Last Of The True Believers' by Jessie Ware as our first dance. Funnily enough this song was the first thing planned about our wedding and was chosen back in 2018. We both separately heard this song on Jessie Ware's album 'Glasshouse' and knew that it was the right fit for our first dance whenever that came around. It resembled us perfectly and has been our favourite song for years.

Final Words

It was such a pleasure to have been involved with this wonderful wedding. Carrie and Grace were both such lovely people and they made an awesome couple.

Thank you to both of them for choosing me as their wedding photographer.
