Based in Mainz, Germany, fashion designer Helen Bender decided to branch into LGBT wedding fashion after her friends entered into a civil partnership. She felt that same-sex couples were too often restricted to either highly traditional or extremely androgynous wedding wear, and wanted to create a middle ground. Her wedding dresses are stylish and beautiful, allowing same-sex brides to show pride through their lesbian identity, whilst at the same time remaining distinctly feminine.
